For a recipe that is effortlessly simple and easily customizable, I would like to present you with this pizza dough.
Why we love it: It only takes about 20 minutes from start to finish and it and yields two large pizzas (perfect for dinner tonight and freezing half of the dough for a later meal).
Before a KitchenAid was part of our kitchen ensemble, we made this recipe many times by hand. Never has it turned out to be anything but perfectly delicious!
Yields 2 large pizzas:
1 3/4 cups white flour
1 3/4 cups of whole wheat flour
1/4 cup extra virgin olive oil + a little extra to rub over dough before letting it rise
1 2/3 cup of warm water
1 packet of rapid rising yeast
1 tbs sea salt
1 tbsp dried basil
When Ready to Bake:
If you do not have a KitchenAid mixer, you can knead by hand instead for approximately 10 minutes.
