I am fortunate to have a commute in the mornings; taking approximately 30 minutes from our home to work.
While understandably many people would opt to forgo such a commute, while others travel even farther day in and day out, 30 minutes to me is just the right amount of time to have a few minutes to prepare for the day ahead. I love having time to listen to music, reminisce, think, spend time chatting with my family on the phone, pray, or listen to a book on tape.
When I finally pull into the parking lot, I feel prepared. I know it is go time and I am ready to hit the ground running. If you're like me, the morning flies by before you know it! There isn't a lot of time to snack or step away. I feel so blessed for this morning routine as well as to have a place of employment in which I feel as though I can actively work to try to make a difference. To have the ability to truly strive to pour the Meraki principle into each day and leave behind a little piece of myself in all I do.
For this reason and more, I have come to value the power of breakfast.
In my adult life and especially in times of difficulty or stress, I have made a conscious effort to focus on nutrition to help fight fatigue and thrive despite any challenges. I have come to value the importance of getting enough sleep, exercising regularly and taking time to plan out meals to ensure that a tough schedule won't compromise fueling and caring for my body. I can't encourage you enough to invest time in your body. Taking time for yourself is so incredibly important and choosing foods that will truly fuel your body has an impact on all areas your are called to.
As a result, I welcome you to try this Greek yogurt bowl-one of my favorite go to breakfasts. It's easy and simple for a weekday morning and the ingredients come together so well.
The result: a healthy and fantastic meal with substantial ingredients to help energize you throughout your morning.
