On a daily basis, we spend so very much of our time waiting on something or someone. It is a process that becomes mundane, routine almost and is engrained in most of our experiences. We wait for phone calls, in lines at the grocery store, and even at restaurants for our next meal. Waiting usually brings about a response, an answer, a solution, or a result. Something we can build upon, get answers from, own.
We are now a culture however, where immediate gratification has become the norm. Our products and processes have become so streamlined and quick, that we have deduced waiting time on so many areas to the bare minimum. Sometimes there is even the juxtaposition that becomes created when we agree to pay more so we can wait less.
While we might feel the urgency to unwrap the unknown quickly and find answers and solutions immediately, the process of waiting can also be a blessing; a time of preparation. Although waiting is difficult, maybe we need that time to work on our thoughts, deal with insecurities, face our emotions, or be delivered from fear. Embracing the waiting process and trusting in timing can actually sometimes be the inner working of something far greater than we can understand in that moment.
