While I have always appreciated and valued the concept, visiting Monterey Bay California's Cooking for Solutions event in my early 20's truly instilled in me the importance of eating fresh and eating local. If you ever have the opportunity to attend the event or visit Monterey, you will forever be impacted by the knowledge, beauty and information that awaits. I learned that week just how easy and simple it can be to live a lifestyle focused on sustainability and the lasting impact that mindset can yield.
When Casey and I moved to Pittsburgh from Texas, I was pleasantly surprised to learn that there are many fresh and local options available in this new city we now call home. It made my heart so happy to learn that nearby are numerous farm-to-table restaurants; each partnering with local farmers to emphasize local and sustainable foods. I am eager to continue exploring this city and all that it offers and these restaurants/places to dine are a few of the places we can't wait to visit. It is refreshing to learn of local businesses that strive to make enjoying fresh, organic meals a possibility.
Today, I want to share a list of a few of a few of these Pittsburgh places that we can't wait to try!
